TAPCO DEBUTS SQUEEZ AND TWEEQ, TWO NEW RACKMOUNT PROCESSORS FOR LIVE SOUND APPLICATONS

Anaheim, NAMM Convention - January 15, 2004:
TAPCO by Mackie today introduced two new rackmount processors for live sound applications. The TAPCO Tweeq T•231 Dual 31-band equalizer and the TAPCO Squeez SQ•2 Compressor/Gate, join a growing family of high-value TAPCO live sound products that also includes the Juice Series power amplifiers, J•800, J•1400 and J•2500.

The TAPCO Tweeq T•231 is a competitively priced, high performance dual 31-band graphic equalizer ideal for use in live sound rigs and in installed setups, such as clubs and rehearsal spaces. Tweeq features road-ready construction, great sound quality, and the best high-precision sliders in its class. A selectable control range allows musicians to switch easily between 6 dB and 12 dB on the graphic filters and an on-board crossover is set at 40Hz for the high pass and 16kHz for the low pass. Along with RCA, TRS and XLR input connectors, Tweeq comes complete with a Bypass switch, Signal Clip indicator, Output gain control and selectable line voltage switch between 115 and 230 VAC operation.

The TAPCO Squeez SQ•2 is a high-value, affordable Compressor/Gate that delivers natural, smooth sounding live vocal processing thanks to a number of innovative features that make it unique in its class. These include the distinctive AIR filter, which is a dynamic high shelving EQ filter that aids in restoring high frequencies while compressing. Also on board is the Soft Gate, which eliminates clipped gated signals particularly for vocals and acoustic instruments. Finally, the Auto Soft Knee Compression function allows high ratio compression to sound more natural.

Squeez also features 8-segment gain reduction meters, XLR/TRS I/O, side chain connection and selectable line voltage.

The recently introduced TAPCO Juice Power Amplifiers include the J•800, J•1400 and J•2500. Power output for each is 800, 1400 and 2500 watts respectively (at 4 Ohms bridged).

Available in Q1, 2004 both new TAPCO processors are on display at the NAMM show in Anaheim from January 15-18, 2004 in booth 6690. Tweeq T•231 has a suggested retail price of 209.00 USD and the Squeez SQ•2 has a suggested retail price of $159.00 USD.
